This year, the first snow in the mountains had already fallen in early September. By the time of their elopement at the end of the month, most of the trails were snow-free again. However, the higher peaks in the surrounding area were still covered in a white blanket of snow, providing an impressive backdrop that beautifully complemented the soft autumn tones.

Legal Wedding Ceremony in Lech am Arlberg
To make their marriage official, their wedding day began with a legal civil wedding ceremony at Huber Haus, a charming heritage museum in a traditional wooden house in Lech am Arlberg. The rustic atmosphere of the house gave the ceremony a special touch as the couple exchanged their vows amidst history and culture.
The Hike to the Wedding Ceremony in the mountains
After a short break, the next chapter of their special day began: a hike up to a mountain peak in the Alps. Upon arriving at the high alpine plateau—their first stop—Megan & Matthew changed into their wedding attire, leading to an emotional “First Look” moment. Surrounded by the breathtaking mountains of Vorarlberg, they saw each other in their wedding outfits for the first time and cherished this intimate moment in the serenity of nature.
