Flying from the USA to the Swiss Alps with your closest family members to celebrate a destination mountain wedding in Switzerland, surrounded by majestic glaciers, charming mountain villages, and breathtaking alpine views, sounds like an absolute dream. Jessica and Scott made this dream of a Switzerland Wedding a reality in September, and we got to document it as Photographer and Videographer Switzerland.
With their wedding outfits packed, they traveled to Grindelwald, nestled in the heart of the Swiss mountains, where they said “I do” at an intimate mountain wedding.
We had the privilege of capturing their special day as wedding photographers and videographers (you can watch the Switzerland wedding video at the end of this post).
The day began at their Airbnb, where Alyssia Olivia styled the bride and the two mothers beautifully for the Switzerland Wedding. Jessica and Scott personalized their day with so many thoughtful details from the very start. The women wore personalized robes, Jess slipped into cozy bridal slippers gifted by her friends.
The men received individually engraved cufflinks as a surprise. Scott’s cufflinks featured an engraving of their beloved dog, ensuring their furry companion was symbolically present on their wedding day despite the distance.
Karin Mani created a stunning bridal bouquet, boutonnieres, and floral bracelets that perfectly complemented the wedding party’s outfits. I adored the soft tones and Karin’s elegant yet natural floral arrangements, which perfectly suited Jessica and Scott’s Switzerland wedding in the mountains.
The groom and his party headed up to the ceremony location in the mountains while Jessica prepared to put on her wedding dress in peace. With the help of her mother and mother-in-law, Jessica slipped into her gown and radiated confidence as she admired her reflection. She looked absolutely stunning and had chosen a dress that allowed enough movement for the short hike we had planned after their mountain wedding ceremony. Her hairstyle and makeup, skillfully done by Alyssia, completed the look.
The bride and the women then took the gondola up to the mountains, where the men were already waiting for the ceremony.
Despite a sudden cloud covering the panoramic mountain views with dense fog, the ceremony was filled with heartfelt and emotional moments. The wedding party embraced the wind, mist, and light drizzle, focusing on the love between the couple as they wholeheartedly said “yes” to each other.
After the ceremony, Jessica and Scott shared a few private moments together. We strolled to a nearby viewpoint to capture the unique atmosphere in their couple photos. The clouds briefly parted, revealing the breathtaking alpine panorama and giving the couple the Switzerland wedding photos and footage they had envisioned for the film from their wedding videographer Switzerland.
Following the couple’s photoshoot, we warmed up at a mountain restaurant before descending to the valley.
The journey continued by train to Interlaken, where the next highlight of this special wedding day in Switzerland awaited us.
Taking the funicular railway up to Harder Kulm, we were greeted by panoramic views of Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and the surrounding peaks.
The wedding dinner at the Harder Kulm restaurant was another unforgettable moment for this stunning Switzerland wedding. The highlight was a traditional Swiss cheese fondue—a must-try for anyone visiting this region. With a bit of practice, everyone mastered the art of dipping bread and cheese into the melted goodness, savoring this classic Alpine dish.
The day ended with a final train ride back to Grindelwald, where a beautiful wedding cake awaited the couple and their guests. Jessica and Scott cut the cake together, marking a sweet and perfect conclusion to their dream mountain wedding in Switzerland.
