When Maddie & Stan planned their wedding in the Austrian Alps, they quickly realized they wanted more than just the big celebration with family and friends. They dreamed of a personal day, just for the two of them—a moment away from the hustle and bustle to celebrate their love surrounded by nature. That’s how the idea for sunrise mountain wedding photos in Austria was born—and it turned into a fairytale-like experience.
We met on a warm summer night. The sky above us was filled with stars as we put on our headlamps and began the ascent to the summit. Maddie loves everything related to the movie Tangled, so it was clear that lanterns, reminiscent of the romantic film scene, had to be part of the shoot.
We reached the summit before sunrise. In the soft glow of the lanterns, Maddie & Stan explored the quiet, mystical surroundings. The dawn light added a special depth to the landscape, and the small mountain lake just below the summit created a scene straight out of a storybook.

As the horizon slowly turned golden, we found the perfect viewpoint for the sunrise. Surrounded by blooming cotton grass, the first rays of sunlight bathed the mountains in a warm glow. A moment full of peace, emotion, and magic—just as Maddie & Stan had imagined it.
A Picnic with Messages and Memories
After the sunrise, it was time for a lovingly prepared breakfast picnic. The two enjoyed their meal in front of this breathtaking backdrop while reading heartfelt messages from their wedding guests, written in a special book. Thoughtful details made the moment even more personal: a hand-embroidered handkerchief with their cats, a custom-engraved pocket watch from Stan, and a Tangled-themed ring box.
As with any proper summit hike, signing the summit book was a must—especially in wedding attire. The surrounding mountain meadows were in full bloom, with colorful flowers even growing around the summit cross. A place full of life, color, and symbolic meaning.
As we hiked back down, we were accompanied by blooming meadows, fresh mountain air, and breathtaking views of the majestic Vorarlberg mountains. This after-wedding photoshoot was not only a photographic highlight but also a deeply emotional experience.
