Winter Elopement Wedding in Austria

During their preparations for a winter vacation in Austria, Marie and Paul had the spontaneous idea to make their trip even more special by getting married in the middle of the snow-covered mountains.
We absolutely loved the idea of a Winter Elopement Wedding in Austria and knew from our very first video call with them that this day would be extraordinary.

In just three weeks, we helped them organize a dream wedding day that included not only a legally binding civil ceremony amid snowy mountains but also many other highlights: skiing from the ceremony site back to the valley, a horse-drawn carriage ride at dusk, a gourmet candlelight dinner in a mountain hut, and a nighttime sled ride back to the valley.

The day began at their Hotel Haldenhof, where Marie received a beautiful bridal styling for her Winter Elopement Wedding in Austria from Katrin Burtscher.

Meanwhile, Fabienne prepared the ceremony location. The decor, matching the winter theme, was kept in white and light tones. A stunning floral arch perfectly blended into the snowy mountain landscape, creating a dreamy backdrop for the ceremony.

The small wedding party took a gondola from the valley up to Oberlech, where the ceremony took place on the terrace of the Hotel Goldener Berg.

When everyone was ready, Marie was escorted by her mother to Paul, who awaited her with a beaming smile. The setting was simply magical, and at that moment, we were all overjoyed that everything had come together so perfectly, allowing the couple to celebrate such a breathtaking wedding. It’s hard to believe we planned it all in just three weeks. Even the sun shone from a clear blue sky, making the snow sparkle.

Stefan Jochum conducted a wonderful ceremony. Having accompanied him at many civil ceremonies before – including our own wedding in Lech three years ago – we are always amazed by how personal he makes each ceremony and his ability to officiate outdoors officially.

Before exchanging vows, Marie and Paul read their self-written promises to each other, a deeply emotional and memorable moment during their Winter Elopement Wedding in Austria. They then exchanged rings and sealed their vows with a kiss against the stunning backdrop.

After this perfect ceremony, all the tension melted away, and they could fully enjoy their unique Winter Elopement Wedding in Austria. They toasted with champagne and soaked in the breathtaking panorama.

The couple warmed up with lunch in the cozy wooden dining room of the Alter Goldener Berg. The authentic mountain lodge atmosphere complemented the snowy winter landscape outside. A video call with loved ones who couldn’t attend added another emotional touch as they expressed heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for the couple.

A delicious wedding cake awaited them, which they cut and shared together.

Before we made our way back to the valley, we used the stunning scenery of Oberlech for Winter Wedding Photos in the snow.

After that, the bridal shoes were swapped for ski boots, and the happiest descent to the valley began – skiing down the slopes. We were all amazed at how gracefully Marie managed to ski in her fitted dress and long veil, thoroughly enjoying the ride. The low winter sun cast a beautiful light, making the moment of the newlyweds skiing down the mountain even more magical.

They celebrated these moments together, popping open a bottle of sparkling wine before returning to the hotel to warm up and continue the festivities of their Winter Elopement Wedding in Austria with cocktails.

As dusk settled, the next highlight awaited the wedding party: a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snowy forest and the festively lit village. This special experience concluded at the gondola station, where we ascended again up to the mountains.

From there, we used toboggans to get down to a mountain hut where dinner awaited the small wedding group.
The scenery up in the snow, overlooking the village lights below, was stunning. After a gourmet candlelit dinner, we toboggan back down to the valley, marking the perfect end to a perfect Winter Elopement Wedding in Austria.

This dreamlike Winter Elopement Wedding in Austria proves once again how, even in a short amount of time, an unforgettable day full of unique experiences and loving details can be planned. We were so happy to use our excellent connections in the wedding industry to make all of the couple’s dreams for their wedding day come true. The entire team worked seamlessly together to ensure they could enjoy every moment of this magical day to the fullest.

If you, too, are considering a winter wedding, send us a message. We would be delighted to help make your dream day a reality and capture those special moments for you in photographs.
So that you, like Marie and Paul, can shine with happiness and always look back on a wedding day that perfectly reflects who you are!
