A Sunrise Wedding Amidst the Blooming Wildflowers in the Alps
The summer solstice is one of the days that gets celebrated worldwide with various festivals and rituals. One well-known example is the Midsummer Festival in Sweden. Here in Austria, fires are lit everywhere in the mountains on the year’s longest day. Olga and Alex chose this special day for their sunrise mountain elopement in Austria.
June 21st marks the longest day of the year, meaning the sun already rises over the mountain peaks at 5:30 am. When we met in the middle of the night at the start of the hiking trail, everything was still dark and silent. Even the stars were invisible as the landscape was covered in fog.
In this complete stillness, we began the ascent. After a few meters, we rose above the fog line and enjoyed the first fascinating views. While the houses in the valley were hidden beneath a sea of fog, the moonlight illuminated the landscape around us.
In the distance, dawn was breaking as we continued the ascent, reaching a high alpine plateau an hour later. The alpine flowers are in full bloom during this time of the year, providing a beautiful backdrop.
Amid mountain peaks and alpine flowers, Olga and Alex changed into their wedding attire for the ceremony. The sky began to paint itself in the most beautiful colors, and minute by minute, the surrounding landscape became even more breathtaking.
First Look Amidst Alpine Flowers at the Mountain Elopement in Austria
Alex was already ready and waiting as Olga walked towards him over the flower-covered mountainside. The bride looked absolutely stunning in her dreamy white wedding dress, holding a beautiful boho bridal bouquet. When the two saw each other for the first time in their wedding outfits, you could practically hear the excitement and love crackling in the air.
Vows at Sunrise – Elopement Wedding in the Mountains
After savoring the emotional moment of seeing each other for the first time in their wedding outfits, it was time for the wedding ceremony. The couple had written personal vows, which they read to each other. It was truly a magical setting: the colorful morning sky bathed the entire landscape in gentle, warm light, countless flowers surrounded them on the mountainside, and the mountain peaks were illuminated by the first sunrays of the day. And in the middle of it all, Olga and Alex sealed their love with personal vows. As a symbol of their marriage, they exchanged rings and concluded the ceremony with a wedding kiss.
A wedding ceremony doesn’t take much to be personal, emotional, and unforgettable. Olga and Alex’s elopement wedding in the mountains once again shows how beautiful a mountain elopement can be. The smiles on the couple’s faces show how fulfilling these personal vows on a mountain in the Alps was for them.
At a time when most people were still sleeping and everything was quiet, the couple was cheering and dancing. Happiness and love surrounded them like the warm sunlight.
To celebrate their vows, they popped the corks and toasted their future with a bottle of champagne.
Elopement Photos in the Mountains in Austria
The enchanting mountain scenery in the morning light also provided a beautiful backdrop for the wedding photos we took afterward. We hiked further up the mountain for some photos, explored the blooming meadows on the ridge, and enjoyed the first warm rays of the morning sun.
As the day only began for most, we made our way back down to the valley.
Although planning a sunrise elopement wedding in the mountains always requires some effort, considering the alarm clock goes off in the middle of the night and the day starts before dawn, it is always a very special experience. Setting out in the dark and witnessing the day awakening to exchange vows in the first light of the day is magical. The silence that prevails in nature early in the morning, the dew on the leaves, and the first rays of the sun enveloping the landscape in warm light make up for any lack of sleep. It is a dreamlike feeling to stand alone on a mountain and start the wedding day amid the most beautiful scenery.

Victoria and Fabian work seamlessly together and provide you with enough direction to make you feel comfortable while still allowing your personality to show through. We could tell that they both love to be outside in nature and their passion for hiking and outdoor adventures is very evident.
We loved every moment of that day and when the photos came they blew us away. We would pick them over and over again. We are so happy to have found them, and they made our photo shoot in the mountains such a memorable experience. Victoria and Fabian thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
