Wedding in the historic steam locomotive in Bregenzerwald

Get married in the nostalgic Waelderbaehnle

If you are looking for an extraordinary wedding location in Bregenzerwald, Vorarlberg, a trail ride in the Waelderbaehnle could be the right thing for you.
In the museum railway’s nostalgic ambiance, you can officially get married – an extraordinary experience for the bride and groom and all the guests.
In a special train of the historic steam locomotive, the journey takes you past the beautiful meadows, forests,
and mountains of the Bregenzerwald in Vorarlberg from the train station in Bezau to Schwarzenberg and back again.
The wedding ceremony can either take place directly inside the museum train or at a stop in nature. With a restaurant wagon, where you get food and drinks,
the ride becomes an extraordinary celebration. Not many have a wedding in the Waelderbaehnle and so your big day will be something very special.

Nicola and Ewald also celebrated their wedding in the historic steam locomotive.

On a rainy October day, the guests arrived smartly dressed in Dirndl and Lederhose at the train station in Bezau.
There the special train was already waiting for the wedding party. The conductor ensured the right ambiance,
and soon there was a great atmosphere in the wagon of the museum railway in Vorarlberg.

When we got to the first stop, it even stopped raining. So the civil wedding could take place in the middle of the green fields.
Surrounded by mountains and the foggy autumn mood, the two said yes to each other. It was an emotional wedding with her closest friends and relatives.
The nostalgic ambiance of the museum railway provided the perfect setting for this.

I am always amazed at how well nature often plays along on the wedding day. Even on this rainy autumn day, it stayed dry, and the ceremony could take place outdoors as planned.

After the wedding, the journey on the Wälderbähnle continued to the train station in Schwarzenberg.
Here everything was prepared for a lovely champagne reception. While the adults toast the newlywed couple, the children were even allowed to take a short ride with the engine driver. This extraordinary wedding in the Wälderbähnle was a highlight for young and old and will undoubtedly be remembered by all guests for a long time.

We used the return trip for unique wedding photos in the Waelderbaehnle. Back at the train station in Bezau, the engine driver heated the lock again for us.
The museum train’s thick steam made a unique mood for the bride and groom’s extraordinary wedding photos.

I am always happy when couples think of something special to celebrate their wedding. There are so many different ways to get married, and a wedding in the museum trail way is an extraordinary idea that all guests are sure to look forward to.

No matter whether you are planning to tie the knot in a train, dream of a princess wedding in a castle, or a laid back celebration in a forest, never forget that this special day is about you, your love for each other, and the promise that you give to each other. Each couple can decide for themselves how, where, and with how many guests you want to celebrate your wedding. You should get married exactly how you want, and in a way that fits you and your relationship. Plan a wedding you look forward to long before, enjoy the whole day from morning to evening to the fullest, and think back to it with a smile on your face for many years to come!
