Wedding Video – Wedding Ceremony at Lake Constance

For a special project, at the beginning of the year, we had the opportunity to capture wedding photos and a wedding video of a civil ceremony on the roof of the Seehotel am Kaiserstrand’s bathing house.
Katha Wedding, along with a fantastic team of wedding vendors, organized a three-day styled shoot to implement new ideas. Over these three days, we photographed and filmed two complete wedding inspirations, and in this blog post, we show you the results of the first shoot.

The idea behind the shoot was to have all guests arrive at the wedding location the day before for the Get Together, gathering around a cozy Christmas-themed campfire to set the mood for the winter wedding at the Lake of Constance.

The next day, Nadja Boll started to style the bride, groom, and maid of honor early.
The pearl-embroidered bridal gown from Brautmoment by Anna-Lena fit perfectly into the winter backdrop, and the groom’s red suit from Lunardi was perfectly coordinated with the entire color scheme.

Lake Constance has a special charm as a wedding location; its blue water and the snow-capped mountains in the background offer a unique setting even in winter. From the rooftop terrace of the Seehotel am Kaiserstrand‘s bathing house, one can enjoy this view exceptionally well, making it a unique location for a wedding ceremony at the Lake of Constance.

Natürlich Fabienne created a dreamy setting for the ceremony with a birch log arbor and beautiful flower decorations.

The officiant, Sarah Scheier, delivered a touching speech and prepared personalized rituals for the couple. For example, the rings floated on small wooden boats in the water, and there was a “wedding tea” ritual to warm up.

The sisters Sarah and Anna-Lena also accompanied the wedding ceremony at Lake Constance with singing. In the wedding video, you can listen to the sound in addition to the pictures. This is one of the most significant advantages of having a wedding photo and film team. We capture all the special moments in photos and motion; particularly, the original audio recordings make a wedding video even more personal and emotional. As a well-coordinated team, we always know where the other is and how to simultaneously capture great photos and video footage, supporting each other instead of getting in each other’s way.

After the wedding ceremony, we all warmed up at the champagne reception in the boathouse. The couple cut the delicious wedding cake by Jeannie Kessler Torten.

If the ceremony takes place in the morning or early afternoon, it’s a good idea to cut the cake in the afternoon instead of at the evening reception. This way, you have a nice activity in the afternoon, the guests are hungry for cake, and the moment is often more consciously enjoyed than amid dancing.

We utilized the evening atmosphere just before sunset for great couple and group shots by the lakeshore. Whenever possible, we always recommend planning time for wedding photos at sunset. The light at this time of day is always particularly beautiful, making your wedding photos and video even more romantic.

Of course, the first dance from the newlywed couple back in the boathouse couldn’t be missed before the celebration began at the beautifully decorated tables.

To conclude, we planned a Sparkler Exit.
A passage where guests hold sparklers in their hands, letting the couple bask in the glow, always yields special shots, is fun for everyone, and can be easily organized with minimal effort. You can end the wedding celebration this way or use it as a conscious transition from dinner to the party.
