Engagement on the Lofoten in Norway
In May, Anthony & Steffi traveled to Norway for the first time. Anthony has thought of something special to make this journey to the Lofoten Islands unforgettable. He wanted to ask Steffi on a mountaintop surrounded by fjords if she would like to be his wife, and planned an adventurous surprise proposal on the Lofoten Islands.
A few weeks before, he asked us if we could capture these special moments in photos. As soon as we read his message, we were super excited, and a few days later, our flight to the north of Scandinavia was booked. It is always an honor and something very special for us when we photograph the unique, intimate moments of a proposal for a couple!
This day with Anthony & Steffi was even more special for us. Fabian also proposed to me two years ago during our big road trip through Norway on exactly this archipelago — the Lofoten Islands.
To make this moment just as magical for the couple from Florida as ours was back then, we planned a hike up an unknown mountain together with Anthony. Rarely do you meet other hikers on the unmarked trail to the summit, and that evening we had the whole place to ourselves. We pretended to do a photography tour with the two of them and stopped at some nice spots for photos on the way to the summit.
When we arrived at the mountain’s highest point, we marveled at the fantastic view with a 360-degree panorama over the surrounding mountain peaks. Some of them were still covered with snow and the turquoise blue fjords—the perfect setting for a surprise proposal on the Lofoten Islands in Norway.
We gave them a few moments to enjoy the view together and take this breathtaking scenery in.
Proposal on the Lofoten Islands
Anthony used this special moment to get a small box out of his pocket, kneel down and ask Steffi if she would like to become his wife.
As you can see from the photos, the surprise was perfect.
Of course, she said YES!
He put the gorgeous ring on her finger while Steffi still couldn’t believe this magical moment was happening.
Here, the two got engaged, on top of a steep mountain, high above the arctic fjords, surrounded by striking mountain peaks. They will surely remember this moment for the rest of their lives with sparkling eyes and a smile.
Of course, we used this unique atmosphere and fantastic backdrop to take engagement photos. It was so lovely to see how happy they were. Not even the cold wind or the clouds could vanish the smiles from their faces.
We stopped at an open-air library on the way down the valley. A small wooden house in which we found a few books. We love these unique places you can discover all over Norway, and the little cabin offered us a great additional backdrop for engagement photos on the Lofoten Islands.
This evening was exceptional, and we will remember it for a long time. For us, it is the most beautiful part of this job when we can capture such unique and memorable moments for couples in photos so that they can talk about it for many years to come and remember every detail.
