Whenever we go hiking, we keep our eyes open for new and unique photo locations. Often we also get helpful hints from family members and friends whenever they see a unique place. Meanwhile, we have a long list with excellent spots that are perfect for mountain engagement photos, elopements, and wedding photo sessions.
We found this mousey peak in Vorarlberg after we got a hint from Victoria’s parents. The fantastic view over the surrounding mountains and the lake of Constance fascinated us immediately.
When we first planned the engagement photos with Stefanie and Johannes, we had a completely different mountaintop in mind as a location for their session. A couple of days before we wanted to take the pictures we discovered, that the road to that hike was currently closed. When we started to think about plan B, we immediately thought of this lovely place. We had been a few days earlier. Stefanie and Johannes have been as excited about the view as we were. We met in the early evening at the start of the path. We hiked to the top of this mountain, which is not that high but an insider tip.
The weather was perfect, we reached the mountaintop by bright sunshine, and the few clouds here and there made the summer mood in the mountains just more beautiful.
After a short break, where we admired the stunning view, Stefanie and Johannes got changed, and we started to explore the different places and perspectives around the mountaintop together.
After a while, we took a break and warmed ourselves while drinking tea and having a little picnic before Stefanie and Johannes changed into their next outfit.
The golden evening light made the mountain scenery even more unique and was the perfect backdrop for Stefanie’s white dress.
With the setting sun, the temperature in Vorarlberg’s mountains is getting cooler, even in summer. That is why we always plan enough time for a break, warm up again, drink tea, and relax.

Just before the sun was setting behind the mountain peaks at the horizon, the lovely couple changed the outfit again. Stefanie wore the dress she is going to wear to her civil wedding this autumn. An engagement photo session is a perfect possibility to get used to “get photographed.” You will already know how this feels and look forward to your wedding couple portraits without being nervous about it on the actual wedding day.
The golden light right before sunset is always super special for engagement and wedding photos. We had a fantastic view over the sunset and the surrounding peaks from the mountaintop, and the last sun rays let the bushes around Stefanie and Johannes shine.
While we watched the beautiful sunset, the moon had risen behind us.
